The Munson Township Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Firefighters/Paramedics. 

Optimal candidates will be highly motivated with personal values that align with the Department’s core values of Service, Compassion, and Professionalism. In addition, qualified candidates must have excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.

Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the Part-Time Firefighters/Paramedics perform a wide variety of tasks including the delivery of Emergency Medical Services, fire suppression, and rescue responses.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• A valid State of Ohio Driver License
• High School diploma (or equivalent)
• Valid Ohio Firefighter Level II certification
• Valid Ohio EMT certification (paramedic or currently enrolled in paramedic program preferred) Note: Firefighter/EMTs must pledge to earn State of Ohio Paramedic certification within one-year of hire as a requirement for continued employment. 
• All Paramedics must possess BLS/CPR and ACLS

HIRING PROCESS

Candidates must be able to successfully complete the following hiring process steps:

• Oral Interview
• Pre-employment background check
• Pre-employment physical including drug screening
• Documentation that proves you are legally eligible to work in the United States

AVAILABILTY REQUIREMENTS

Current scheduling includes 12-hour shifts (08:00-20:00, 20:00-08:00)

Each member is required to submit availability to work at least 36 hours per month, 12 of which must be on a weekend (Friday 20:00 – Sunday 20:00)

About the Munson Township Fire Department:

The mission of the Munson Fire Department is to provide the highest quality fire and rescue services to the residents and visitors to our Township. We use our training, expertise, and resources to protect, rescue, or assist in any way possible those who call on us for help.

The Munson Fire Department serves Munson Township, an area covering 25 square miles and home to approximately 7,000 residents. We respond to approximately 1,600 calls a year to provide emergency medical services, fire suppression, rescue, smoke/carbon monoxide alarm investigations, and public assistance. Some of our other daily activities include fire prevention inspections, and teaching fire safety, CPR, and first aid. Additionally, our staff trains daily, sharpening their skills and keeping current with the latest advancements in EMS and firefighting.

Working 24/7 toward our mission is a team of full and part-time personnel. Our operations staff includes the Fire Chief, three full-time Battalion Chiefs, three full-time Captains, 8 full-time Firefighter-Paramedics, and 9 part-time Firefighter-Paramedics, 1 Fire Inspector, and a Business Manager. All staff members are both Firefighters and EMS providers.
